February 6 would have been Ronald Reagan's 99th birthday. I hope that each of you have a few moments to reflect on the life and times of him, and what he meant to you. I know that I will. In 1964 he told conservatives that “You and I have a rendezvous with destiny.” He met that destiny when he became President of the United States.

I think the most important thing President Obama must do is to create permanent well paying jobs that would serve as the foundation for a stable American economy. As a businessman for the past 42 years, I know what it is to create jobs and to make a payroll. We cannot spend our way out of our economic problems. If American families are being asked to make sacrifices, then so should the federal government.

I was honored to march with fellow Ohioans in support of the unborn. We prayed for and remembered the 50 million children who have lost their lives to abortion since the legalization by Roe v. Wade.
Happy New Year from my family and me to you and your family. The New Year is a time for celebration of love, of life, of friendship. It's the time to thank God for family, friends and country. As we look to the future, let us resolve that we will work hard to solve the problems confronting our nation and our world. Let’s also take a few minutes to pray for our troops serving so far away from home. Because of them we remain free and the greatest country on earth.

Happy New Year!
